- What Domo is
- A vertically integrated housing enterprise based in San Diego, California. Domo Modular designs and develops; Domo Manufacturing builds steel volumetric modules; Domo Construction prepares sites and stacks buildings; Domo Living operates the communities.
- The product
- Factory-built, precision-engineered steel volumetric modules on one standard chassis, joined by a patented mechanical locking system. Rated in California seismic zones to 210 feet, about 21 stories.
- Factory
- San Diego line designed for 1,000+ units a year, scaling to 4,000. Modules leave finished: structure, MEP, kitchens, baths, furnishings, smart-home and access devices.
- Site
- Standard flatbed transport as permitted loads, with no flaggers or follow cars required. Foundations and utilities run in parallel with the factory; a 60-unit building was stacked in under two weeks.
- Pipeline
- About 1,100 units permitted across eight San Diego projects. 3743 4th Avenue, Hillcrest, is built and in lease-up; Riley Street (135 units, 172 modules) is in production.
- Where next
- San Diego first, then the Southwest: Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado and Texas, one clustered market at a time.

Many have tried factory-built housing. What failed was the business model: a factory selling custom modules into someone else's process. Domo builds for its own portfolio, on its own chassis, and operates what it builds. That is why the system compounds.
